Representative from Advanced Solar Photonics, (ASP), the cutting-edge developer of laser marking, scribing, edge deletion and edge isolation systems for the solar industry joined hundreds of energy reform advocates from across Florida yesterday in Tallahassee, the Capitol, to lobby for a solar energy incentive program.
 
The solar program up for debate is referred to in Florida as Renewable Energy Dividends (REDs). This incentive program would make it profitable for anyone with open land or roof space to go solar.
 
"Renewable energy programs, such as REDs have numerous high points," said Maureen McHale, Corporate Marketing and Public Relations Director for Advanced Solar Photonics. "They make money for businesses, they create jobs, they stimulate investments, democratize energy production, help state governments meet their RPSs, decrease our dependence on foreign oil, increase our energy and national security, and decrease our CO2 emissions."
 
Business advocates, concerned citizens and the group Florida Alliance for Renewable Energy met with delegates throughout the day to press for this "feed-in-tariff" type system that has already been adopted by 46 countries and the Florida City of Gainesville.
 
"Any policymaker who's charged with representing the public's interest and future generations' interest should support the RED debate. It's a win-win solution for everyone."
